WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Due to limited financial resources, hunts are limited to retired and active duty mobility challenged Combat injured veterans with permanent life changing physical disabilities that were injured on the battlefield while engaged in battle under fire with the enemy.(Applications are reviewed on a case by case basis). An example of those qualified are Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze star recipients, but not limited entirely to the before described definition. Individuals injured by IED, land mines and other explosives devices are eligible.Our goal is to be 100% wheelchair accessible and facilitate hunts for retired and active duty U.S. military personel who are paraplegics, amputees or use prosthetics, wheelchairs, crutches and walking canes.These individuals will be hunting the "Hero Tract" that is dedicated to them.
PTSD HUNTS
Plans are under consideration to host special hunt(s) for active duty and retired service personel suffering from PTSD and other non-mobility related conditions.These hunts will be held in the Barbour County management area which is archery only except for 3-4 general gun hunts and 2 black powder hunts each hunting season.(Dates to be announced). Applications should be submitted and a random drawing will determine recipients.
KIDS OF K.I.A.'S
Children of our fallen heroes that are of legal hunting age may submit an application to come participate in a special youth only hunt dedicated to their fallen parent. They must be accompanied by an adult for supervision at all times while hunting.
*Compliance with all state and local hunting regulations apply and proper licenses are required for all hunts.
